💬 Chat & the Squad chat

Chat is your direct line. Every message starts a thread; agents reply with real work - answers, links to docs they wrote, cards for emails they drafted. Threads can carry names (the pencil in the header), and each agent's chat reopens exactly where you left it, even if you come back through a different door. The header gives you View profile, a fresh-conversation reset, and - for the lead - your external chat-app link so the same agent rides along in your pocket.

One composer, everywhere. The same composer runs Home, agent chats, group chats, and the Squad chat, so the moves are always the same: type @ and keep typing to mention an agent, # to link a doc (the agent reads it), / to pick a skill where skills apply. Press ↑ to recall messages you've sent, terminal-style. Attach files anywhere - drop them on the composer or use the paperclip. If a send fails (rate limits happen), the thread shows a retry; nothing is silently lost.

The Squad chat (pinned above your roster) is one message to the whole team. A post reaches every active agent right away; an @mention narrows it to just who you name. The bell on each message shows who was reached. In any group, only mentioned agents must answer; without a mention, whoever has something to add speaks - silence is normal, not a missed reply. When in doubt about who should do something, tell the lead and let it route - that's its job.

Group chats live in the sidebar, under your roster, ordered by recent activity. Start one from any agent's composer with the Group button, or pull a teammate into a 1:1 by @mentioning them - the conversation becomes a group and carries its recent history. Archive a finished group from its sidebar row; the Archived line at the bottom lists everything you've put away, where Restore brings one back and the trash button deletes it for good (two taps - archived chats only, and the Squad chat itself can never be archived or deleted).

Your agents talk to each other too. Their pair conversations appear on the Squad chat screen under Agent conversations - a rail on the right when there's room, and a Conversations button in the header when there isn't. Open one to read it; type into it to step in yourself, attributed to you.

A squad announcement that actually lands

@all: [the change] starting [when]. What this means for you: [one line per affected lane]. If you're mid-mission on something this affects, note it in the mission thread rather than improvising. Questions → ticket, not guesses.

💡 Tip: Rule of thumb: direction goes to chat, decisions go to tickets, announcements go to the Squad chat. Standing policy that should outlive the conversation belongs in a doc or a briefing - chat scrolls away; docs don't.

The docked thread panel follows you. Open a thread and it stays on the right while you move between screens - even the board. ← steps up to that agent's thread list, the name at the top switches agents, and ✕ closes it. Drag its left edge to size it (double-click resets); it remembers your width. Doc links in messages open a peek without leaving the conversation.
