Squad notifies you in two places: the bell in the dashboard’s top bar, and email to the address you sign in with. You choose which events use each one in Settings > Notifications.

Use the bell

The bell is in the top bar. A number on it shows how many notifications you have not read.
  1. Click the bell. The Notifications panel shows your newest notifications.
  2. Click a notification. A reply from an agent opens that conversation. Any other notification is marked as read and opens the Live Feed.
Other controls in the panel:
  • Mark all read marks every notification as read.
  • The x on a row hides that row until you reload the dashboard.
  • Clear all marks everything as read and hides the rows until you reload the dashboard.
  • View all opens the Live Feed.
  • The gear icon (Notification settings) opens Settings > Notifications.
When nothing is new, the panel shows You’re all caught up.

Choose what reaches you

Set each event

For each event, turn IN-APP or EMAIL on or off.
Each change saves at once. IN-APP controls the bell. EMAIL controls email. Completed and failed runs are off by default. Turn Task completed or Task failed on if you want to hear about them. Failed runs also show on the Health screen. See See what your agents did.
Email escalations and email drafts reach you only in the dashboard today. The Escalations and Draft ready events never send an email, even when EMAIL is on. Check the bell, Home, and the Email screen for them. See Give an agent an email inbox.
Some bell notifications have no setting and always show. For example, when Claude Code signs out, the bell shows “Claude Code is signed out on your workspace. Runs that use Claude fail until you reconnect it in Settings → AI Tokens.” See Choose models and manage AI accounts. Squad sends at most one notification email per minute. If two events happen within the same minute, you get an email for the first one only. The bell still shows both.

Know what the weekly digest contains

The weekly digest is an email that Squad sends on Mondays at 14:00 UTC. Its subject is “Your weekly Squad summary”. Today it contains a greeting and a link to your dashboard. It does not list your squad’s work. To stop it, turn off EMAIL for Weekly digest.

Check that it works

  • The bell shows a number when a new notification arrives for an event that has IN-APP on.
  • An event with EMAIL on sends an email to your sign-in address, with a link to the mission or activity.

Troubleshooting

You did not get an email for a blocked mission. Cause: Squad already sent a notification email in the same minute, or EMAIL is off for Mission blocked. Fix: check the bell, and check the setting. A notification you cleared came back. Cause: Clear all and the x hide rows only until you reload the dashboard. Fix: click Mark all read instead. Read notifications do not add to the number on the bell.
