# Share a read-only view of your workspace

> Turn on a public link to your Missions board, docs, and agent profiles, and turn it off or replace it when you need to.

The public dashboard is a read-only view of your workspace at a share link. Anyone who has the link can open it without an account. Nobody can change anything through it.

## What people see, and what they do not see

The top bar of the public view has only **Missions** and **Docs**. The sidebar lists your squad. Any other address under the link opens the **Missions** board.

On an agent's profile, visitors see no buttons. Where you see **Needs you**, visitors see **Waiting**. A link to your own profile shows "This profile isn’t part of the shared view".

**Settings** > **Public Dashboard** sums this up under **WHAT'S VISIBLE**: **Squad & status**, **Mission board**, and **Docs** are **Shown**. **Email** and **Settings** are **Hidden**.

<Warning>Anyone with the link can see your missions and docs. Mission threads are shown with everything written in them, including your answers to tickets. Archive or delete any doc that you do not want others to see before you share the link. Archive any mission whose thread must stay private. ## Turn on the public dashboard

    Under **SHARE LINK**, click **Copy**. The link is now on your clipboard.

Send the link to the people who should see your workspace.

## Turn off the public dashboard

1. Go to **Settings** > **Public Dashboard**.
2. Turn off **Public dashboard**.

The link stops working. The link itself does not change. If you turn the public dashboard on again, the same link works again for everyone who has it. The settings page says so too: "Turning sharing off and on again keeps this same link." Clicking **Copy** also turns the public dashboard on.

## Revoke a link that people already have

To make sure that an old link never works again, replace it.

The old link stops working at once. Share the new link with the people who still need it.

## Let search engines find the page

**Search engine indexing** is off by default. While it is off, the public page asks search engines not to index it.

To allow indexing, go to **Settings** > **Public Dashboard** and turn on **Search engine indexing**. Turn it on only if you want the page to show in search results.

## Credit your referrals

Visitors see a **Built with Squad** button. If you are a Squad partner, type your partner slug under **Partner referral link** and click **Save**. The button then uses your referral link.

## Check that it works

* Open the link in a private browser window. The **Missions** board shows without a sign-in.
* After you turn the dashboard off or regenerate the link, the old link shows "This shared dashboard isn’t available".

## Troubleshooting

**Visitors see "This shared dashboard isn’t available".** Cause: the public dashboard is off, the link was regenerated, or your subscription is not active. Fix: check **Settings** > **Public Dashboard**, and send the current link.

**Visitors can read a doc that you did not want to share.** Cause: every doc that is not archived is shown. Fix: archive or delete the doc. See [Find and manage your squad's docs](/docs/squad-docs).
