Your squad works on one workspace computer. Each agent has its own browser on that computer, with its own sign-ins. Agents use it to open pages, read them, click, and type. You can watch an agent's screen live, take over when it needs a person, and give control back. ## What agents do on the computer * Agents open pages, take screenshots, click, and type in their own browser. They can send you a screenshot in chat when you ask to see something. * When an agent hits something only you can do, such as a sign-in, a CAPTCHA, a two-factor code, or a judgment call on screen, it posts an action card in chat. The card shows its live screen with **Take over** and **I’m done** buttons, and says what the agent needs. The agent is told to pause that piece of work until you click **I’m done**. ```text Ask an agent theme={null} Open [site] in your browser, sign-in pages included, and hand the screen to me when you reach the login. I will sign in, then you continue with [task]. ``` ## Open an agent's computer Use one of these: * On the agent's profile, click the monitor icon. Its tooltip reads **Watch** followed by the agent's name and **’s computer**. * In a chat with the agent, find the **COMPUTER** panel and click **Show live screen**. Click **Expand** to open the full screen. * When an agent asks for help on its screen, click **Take over** on the card in chat. The screen title is the agent's name followed by **’s computer**, for example "Nova’s computer". When you open it, that agent's browser comes to the front. The back link at the top, with the agent's name, returns you to the chat or profile you came from. ## Read the screen | Part | What it shows | | ------------------------------ | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Top bar | The back link, the title, the keyboard layout menu, and **Teach a task**. | | Status line | **Watching · the squad keeps working** while you watch, or **You have the keyboard** while you have control. | | **Reliable mode** | A check box for a steadier stream. Turn it on when the stream fails, then click **Refresh**. | | **Refresh** | Reconnects the stream. It shows **Connecting…** while it works. | | **Take over** or **Hand back** | Takes or returns control of the mouse and keyboard. | | Presence strip | Who is using the computer: each agent whose browser is open (**browser open**), **active**, or idle for some minutes. **No one is using the computer right now** means nobody has control. **Presence unavailable right now** means Squad could not check. | | The screen | The live stream. While you watch, it shows **You’re watching. Take over to use your mouse and keyboard.** | ## Watch without taking control While you watch, your mouse and keyboard do nothing on the computer. The agent keeps working. ## Take over Click **Take over** in the top bar or on the screen. The button shows **Taking over…**. Wait until the status line shows **You have the keyboard**. Use your mouse and keyboard on the screen, for example to sign in, solve a check, or type a code. The agent is not stopped while you have control. Tell it in chat what you are doing if it must wait. On a Mac, the Command key works as Control on the workspace computer. For example, Command+C copies. ### Pick your keyboard layout If your typing comes out wrong, pick your keyboard layout in the keyboard menu at the top of the screen. The menu shows **Applying…** while it changes. The layout applies at once and is saved for your workspace. If it fails, the menu shows an error such as "The layout could not be applied. Try again." ## Hand back control 1. Click **Hand back**. 2. If the agent asked for help with a card in chat, click **I’m done** on that card. This sends "I'm done. Back to you." to the agent. The Live Feed records each change of control, for example "Keyboard taken over on Nova’s computer" and "Keyboard handed back on Nova’s computer". ## Teach a task from the computer screen On the same screen, click **Teach a task** to record yourself doing a task once. The agent turns the recording into a draft skill, and you approve it. For the full steps, see [Add and manage skills](/docs/skills#teach-a-task-by-showing-it-once). ## Check that it works * The status line shows **You have the keyboard** after you take over. * After you hand back, it shows **Watching · the squad keeps working**. * The Live Feed shows the take-over and hand-back entries. ## Troubleshooting **The screen shows "Not connected".** Cause: the stream did not start. Fix: click **Try again** or **Refresh**. If it still fails, turn on **Reliable mode** and click **Refresh**. **The screen shows "The computer is restarting. It is back in about a minute."** Cause: the workspace computer is restarting, for example after a settings change. Fix: wait a minute, then click **Refresh**. **The screen shows "The stream disconnected".** Cause: the connection dropped. Fix: click **Reconnect**. **The strip shows "The screen looks frozen."** Cause: the screen has not changed for more than two minutes. Fix: click **Unfreeze**. The button shows **Fixing…** while it works. **"Couldn't take over. Try again."** Cause: the take-over request did not reach the computer. Fix: click **Take over** again. If it keeps failing, click **Refresh** first. **"Couldn’t reach the computer. Try again."** Cause: the dashboard could not reach the workspace computer. Fix: click **Refresh**. If the computer is restarting, wait a minute. **The page says "This teammate doesn’t exist."** Cause: the link points to an agent that is not in your squad. Fix: open the agent from **YOUR SQUAD** in the sidebar.
